Contrasting Hemingway and Dickens

I found this while searching for other blogs about Hemingway and Dickens and I wished I had found it earlier; like back when we first got into Hemingway and Dickens. I think it hits most of the points we talked about and I found interesting to read because we came up with almost all the same ideas!

  2. Yeah, we definitely came up with the same points about their writing styles. I thought reading the comments on this link was interesting because there are a variety of opinions on which author is better. Honestly, i don't think one is necessarily better than the other, but because of Hemingway's style, it's easier to pick up one of his books to read. When reading Charles Dickens you really have to have the time to analyze passages. Also, Hemingway is easier to read in one sitting. No wonder Great Expectations was first read in installments.
