This is a Robert Frost Quote that I read on Brainy Quote, I thought you guys would find it interesting and it reminded me of when we began the poetry unit and were asked to come up with our own definition of poetry and what makes good poetry. --
"Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words."

This is a very beautiful description of poetry. When we were asked to define poetry in class I wrote, "Poetry is the art of displaying feeling, an idea, or thoughts through the use of selected words organized into a small body of work".

ReplyDeleteThis is a great definition! I agree that emotion and thought is very involved in poetry. It does not take much effort in writing poetry, especially if you are able to genuinely express your emotion.
