Claudius in Scene 5
In scene five we find out that Hamlets father was murdered by Claudius. "The serpent that did sting they father's life/ Now wears his crown." (1.5.46-47) This shows us that Claudius killed Hamlet's father. It also shows that Claudius is greedy and egotistical. It also shows that Claudius is fake and a liar . Earlier in Act 1 Scene 2 Claudius is trying to comfort Hamlet and tell him not to feel bad because it is just natural that his father died, he also says that his father is going to heaven and he will be all right. Claudius says "Take it to heart? Fie, 'tis a fault to heaven," (1.2.105) This shows that Claudius is a complete fake, he lies to Hamlet telling him everything is going to be ok, and that he is his new father. Meanwhile Claudius was just jealous of Hamlets dad so he killed him, married his wife and lied to both of them.
