This is the response Laertes gives to Polonius after his lecture on how to act in France. Polonius gives him an elaborate speech about what to do, what to wear, and how to speak yet Laertes gives a short, dismissive reply. This quote shows the relationship between Laertes and his father. Their relationship seems a little strained but only because Polonius feels that he can control Laertes, although he is a grown man. This shows us that Laertes too is conflicted with his father character just as Hamlet as a conflict with Claudius, his "father" character.
